Kevin O'Brien Architects is a unique practice specializing in comprehensive architectural design and management services for projects of all sizes.

Established in 2006 by Kevin O'Brien the practice has completed residential, commercial and institutional projects throughout urban, regional and remote sites in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and the Northern Territory.

The work of the practice is concerned with 3 central ideas as follows:

  1. the technical resolution of the building construction and material systems to minimize ongoing energy costs
  2. the creation of a series of settings derived from the client's explicit and implicit needs to create spaces fit for use
  3. an articulation of the architecture to achieve a meaningful relationship between the client, the landscape and the city to maximize views, aspect and experience

Together with our trusted network of consulting engineers and cost consultants, we are also able to offer a one-stop service as the most effective and cost-efficient model to our clients.

A number of cultural projects working in collaboration with performing artists, visual artists and curators have also been completed requiring installation, set and exhibition design for the National Museum of Australia, the National Gallery of Australia, the Queensland Museum,  the Queensland Art Gallery, the Queensland Theatre Company, and the Institute of Modern Art.
